Friends, stars to stage benefit concert, auction June 14 to benefit ailing songwriter

NASHVILLE ¾ Larry Wayne Clark, a beloved and respected figure in the songwriter rooms and studios of Music City, was recently diagnosed with cancer and has returned to his native Canada for treatment (Saint John, New Brunswick, where he has extended family). Nashville friends and colleagues are staging a benefit Nashville Sings for Larry Wayne Clark to help pay for essential medication and other expenses related to his illness, which will take place

6-9 p.m. Monday, June 14
Red Rooster Bar & Music Hall
1530 Demonbreun Street, Nashville


Buddy Jewell, who wrote “Addicted to the Rain” with Clark and included it on his sophomore album, will headline a talent-laden concert lineup.

Other scheduled artists, many of whom will perform songs they wrote with Clark, include Robin English (“Cotton Field Girl”), Andrea Pearson (“If I Can't Have Tomorrow”) Lauren Lucas (“Nothin' Says Goodbye Like a Train”), Chelsee Oaks (“Rag Doll”), Adam Gregory, Jared Blake, Ryan Laird, Erinn Bates (“Can't Hide In A Small Town”), Cassidy Lynn (“Down By The Bonfire”) and guitar hero Ladd Smith.

Live and silent auctions will feature guitars, photographs and other music memorabilia signed by the stars; hit song lyrics handwritten by the writers; co-writing sessions with hit writers; studio time; and dozens of other unique and valuable items

Admission is free, although a love offering will be taken at the door. Everyone who makes a donation of $20 or more will receive a copy of LWC Favorites: Songs of Larry Wayne Clark, a limited-edition compilation CD of some of Larry’s favorite songs he’s written.

Friends who cannot attend Nashville Sings for Larry Wayne Clark will be able to view streaming video at UARadio.
